WHAT IS RESTORE DENVER DAY?
Brought to you by Restoration's Kindness Evangelism Team (KET), Restore Denver is a day of outreach and service to our community. Gather your small group, your family and your friends and join one of several service projects that will be taking place all over the neighborhood. The day will start at Restoration with a neighborhood prayer walk for those interested, followed by a kick-off huddle with all participants (complete with coffee and bagels!) before breaking to service projects. The day will culminate with a celebration lunch BBQ in the church parking lot that will be open to both Restoration and the neighbors we served that day. Through good deeds and acts of kindness, we hope to create goodwill and tangibly love our neighbors on this special service day. We hope you'll join us!
SCHEDULE OF THE DAY
7:00 - 8:15am: Neighborhood prayer walk (Departs from Restoration. Everyone is invited!)
8:15 - 8:30am: Kick-off huddle and final prayer with all participants at Restoration
8:30 - 8:45am: Coffee/bagels to go and break to service projects
9:00 - 12:00pm: Service projects
12:00 - 1:30pm: Celebration BBQ at Restoration
WHAT TYPE OF SERVICE PROJECTS WILL THERE BE?
There will be a prayer walk at 7:00am to kick off the day. EVERYONE is invited to participate before heading to their service project.
There are specific projects geared towards families with young kids and students (designated by *Family Life* and *Student Ministry* in the title), but families are welcome to sign up for any project that would be appropriate for their children to engage in.
Projects will take place at local schools, the nearby Porter Hospital, Harvard Gulch park, and in the neighborhood homes we park in front of every weekend.
School projects will consist of yard work and clean-up on the school grounds.
Porter projects include spring cleaning of their Hospitality House as well as planting flower pots and beds at Porter Place (the assisted living center).
The Family Life project will take place in the parking lot of Restoration. Kids (age 0-10) will be making fun giveaways like painted flower pots and neighbor appreciation bags to hand out to neighbors. There will also be ice cream to hand out and a bounce house to add to the day of fun and service!
The Student Ministry project will take place in Harvard Gulch Park. Students will man a tent and hand out fun giveaway items (donuts, water bottles, etc.).
